Thank you for taking the time to look at my photography. For as long as I can remember I have been captivated by wild places. I grew up in a family that valued wilderness immensely, so much of my time was spent outdoors. When I was a child, every inch of my bedroom was covered with pictures of animals. These pictures inspired me to explore the world and to see these creatures and the wilderness they inhabit with my own eyes. Since then I have been doing just that. My hope is that my photos will inspire others to do the same and, in doing so, to connect with nature and promote its preservation.
Every animal I photograph is in the wild and free to come and go as it pleases. I do not believe in photographing wildlife in captivity, using wildlife models, or baiting. Encountering wildlife in the wild is much more rewarding, and I believe that a stronger relationship with nature results. Our society is becoming increasingly distanced from nature and wild places. My hope is to help reconnect people with nature, especially our younger generations, so that it is valued and conserved. I hope you enjoy my images, but I hope even more that you take the time to experience nature personally, at every opportunity, and take actions that ensure its well-being.
I am a Canadian photographer whose interest lies primarily in nature and travel photography. I hold a degree in Conservation Biology and currently work as a park ranger in Canada’s mountain parks. When I’m not at work I travel throughout Canada and the world exploring wild areas. This site showcases a small sample of my work. Please visit often as I will frequently update my galleries with new images.
